Our Dogs
All our dogs are vaccinated and are on monthly heartworm and intestinal worming. We are fortunate to not have any fleas or paralysis ticks on our property. Our adult dogs are on Bonnie Adult complete dry biscuits and have a homemade stew made of mince vegies and pasta and of course the raw chicken frames and beef bones for their enjoyment and to help keep their teeth good.
The pregnant females are changed to Advance growth cans and dry food 4 weeks prior to whelping and after whelping until the pups are weaned. Sometimes they enjoy Divetelact milk so this is offered in the first few days as they seem to be more worried about the pups than feeding themselves. They do get to share the pups food and drink until they are separated (the mother usually decides at what age this is, some want to get out as soon as they are weaned and others continue to supplement the pups right up to or even past 6 weeks of age). We have one female “Seeker” who will feed any puppy regardless of age even if it's not her puppy to start with.
Our pups are all vet checked and vaccinated prior to going to new homes. They are wormed every 2 weeks with Milbemax tablets. We use tablets rather than syrup because I am very good at getting more syrup in my lap than in their mouth. They are fed Advance growth cans as a complete diet until about 5 weeks of age when they start with Advance growth biscuit and a ½ and ½ mixture of Advance cans and the mince, vegies, pasta meals the same as the adults. They have not received any flea washes or treatments as we do not have fleas or ticks at our place.
